THE HIRER MUST PRODUCE THE FOLLOWING FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION AT THE TIME OF HIRE:

Trailer Hire: Current Driving Licence, 1 other form of I.D. with a matching address, ie. Utility Bill and the vehicle registration / V5 document for the vehicle that trailer is collected & towed away by.
A £200 deposit is required and payable by Credit card only.

Horse Trailer Hire: There is a cancellation fee on the Horsebox hire of £10 on a daily hire and £20 on a weekly hire. The hire charge is taken at the time off booking by credit card and a refund less the fee will be issued if the hire is cancelled within 1 week of the proposed hire date.

4 X 4 Hire: Current Driving Licence, 2 other forms of I.D. with a matching address, ie. Utility Bill. Drivers must be of a minimum age of 25 and no older than 65 years of age and hold a full current British Driving Licence. A £500 deposit is required and payable by Credit card only.

HIRE CHARGE AND DEPOSIT IS PAYABLE UPON COLLECTION. ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO VAT AT THE CURRENT RATE.


All Hire Trailers are supplied with Triplelock security hitches, full road lighting, spare wheel and wheel brace.

A Number plate is a legal requirement and can be made while you wait.
£12.00 + vat (V5 / Log Book required).

1 Weeks Cover (Camping Trailer only) £15 + vat
1 Weeks Cover for all other trailers £20 + vat
£200 Excess is the responsibility of the hirer

ACCIDENTAL COVER DOES NOT COVER THE TRAILER AGAINST THEFT.

THE CUSTOMERS GOODS WHILST IN OR ON THE TRAILER ARE ALSO NOT COVERED BY OUR TRAILER ACCIDENTEL COVER.

THE COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE HIRE TO ANY CUSTOMER FOR WHAT EVER REASON WE SEE FIT AT THE TIME OF HIRE

TRIDENT TRAILERS: TRAILER HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Upon trailer collection the Hirer must produce as I.D. a full valid Driving Licence plus the towing vehicle’s Log Book (V5) plus a household bill – all with the same address.
   
2. The hire charge is paid in full on collection of the trailer; no refund will be made should the trailer be returned prior to the agreed hire completion date and time.
   
3. A £200 deposit is payable by debit or credit card only on collection of the trailer as excess of any insurance claim; this increases to £500 for the Enclosed Car Transporter RS3. Deposits are refunded on hire completion, condition dependent. Minor damage, i.e. broken lamp/lens, panel damage, floor scratches that reveal plywood, damage to tyres etc will be deducted from the deposit. The Hirer is liable for the first £200 of any damage to the trailer while in their possession, £500 for RS3.
   
4. Clips are on all trailers to accept an oblong number plate – a number plate is a legal requirement and can be purchased on trailer collection. Trailers are not to be written on or have items stuck on them.
   
5. The Hirer agrees to return the trailer in the same condition as collected and no later than the agreed hire completion date and time. Failure to return the trailer on time without prior consent from Trident Trailers Ltd will incur a penalty charge together with any additional costs incurred by Trident Trailers Ltd. The trailer can only be collected and returned during opening hours Monday to Friday 8.00am–5.00pm, Saturday 8.00am-1.00pm (12.30pm at Faversham).
   
6. Should the trailer not be returned at the agreed hire completion date and time and no contact is made by the Hirer, the Hirer agrees to copies of hire documentation being passed to the Police to assist recovery of the trailer.
   
7. The Hirer will be liable for all solicitor and court costs incurred if Trident Trailers Ltd have to take legal action to either recover the trailer, the value of the trailer or repair costs, if the Hirer does not comply with these terms and conditions.
   
8. The trailer is insured by Trident Trailers Ltd subject to Trailer Accident Cover or Trailer Full Theft & Accident Cover being taken by the Hirer – TAC is £5.00 per day or £25.00 per week; TFTAC is £10.00 per day (already included in RS3 hire charge). TAC/TFTAC covers the trailer in the UK only.
   
9. If the Hirer does not take Trident Trailers Ltd TAC or TFTAC, insurance of the trailer will be entirely the Hirer’s responsibility and the Hirer will agree to pay for any damage or loss arising from any incident (i.e. accident, theft or other cause).
   
10. Trident Trailers Ltd cannot be held liable for the damage or theft of customer goods in/on the trailer; nor can they be held liable for claims arising from the loading/unloading of such goods. The Hirer shall completely indemnify Trident Trailers Ltd from all claims by any person for injury to person or property caused by or in connection with the use of the trailer. Trident Trailers Ltd shall not be liable from any losses arising out of use of the trailer.
    
11. The trailer must not be taken out of the UK without Trident Trailers Ltd consent. If consent is given, the Hirer must ensure the trailer is insured to be recovered back to Trident Trailers Ltd in any eventuality.
    
12. Any road traffic accidents involving the trailer or theft of the trailer must be reported by the Hirer to the Police and to Trident Trailers Ltd within 8 hours of incident. The Hirer must inform Trident Trailers Ltd of any crime reference number or accident report number given by the Police for any incident.
    
13. The Hirer agrees to ensure the trailer remains locked onto the tow vehicle at all times. The Hirer agrees to tow the trailer in a careful manner in accordance with all legal requirements and towing speed limitations with full consideration being given to towing the trailer with a secure restrained load.
    
14. The Hirer must not at any time involve the trailer in any illegal importation, i.e. immigrants, drugs, tobacco, alcohol etc. Should the trailer be involved in any illegal activity the Hirer is fully responsible for any costs, fines or confiscation. The Hirer will not lend, sell or otherwise part with the trailer from their control. The trailer is the property of Trident Trailers Ltd and the Hirer at no time has right, title or interest in the trailer.
    
15. The Hirer will be responsible for the internal and external cleanliness of the trailer. If the trailer is returned excessively dirty, a surcharge will be made at £50.00.
    
16. All risks as stipulated in these Terms and Conditions pass to the Hirer on signing below and when the trailer leaves the possession and control of Trident Trailers Ltd. Note that these points are made as a result of hire trailers being abused by a minority and we have to protect our services for existing and future clients.

On collecting the trailer at a Trident Trailers branch you will be required to sign a printed copy of this document, confirming you have read and understood the terms and conditions stated above.

TRIDENT TRAILERS: VEHICLE HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The Hirer must be between the ages of 21 and 70 and have held a full valid driving licence for at least one year. If the vehicle is being used for towing the Hirer must have category B+E on their licence.
   
2. The Hirer must produce I.D. being the photocard and paper counterpart of their full valid driving licence plus 2 household bills – all with the same address.
   
3. The hire charge is paid in full on collection of the vehicle; no refund will be made should the vehicle be returned prior to the agreed hire completion date and time. The vehicle can only be collected and returned during opening hours Monday to Friday 8.00am–5.00pm, Saturday 8.00am-1.00pm (12.30pm at Faversham).
   
4. A £500 deposit is payable by debit or credit card only on collection of the vehicle as excess of any insurance claim. Deposits are refunded on hire completion, condition dependent. The Hirer is liable for the insurance excess of £500.
   
5. Travelling abroad is by arrangement only. Green Card insurance must be taken and will be charged at £10.00 per day or £50.00 per week, payable in advance at the time of booking the hire. The deposit increases to £1,000 for travelling abroad. Vehicles must not be taken out of the UK without Trident Trailers Ltd consent.
   
6. A mileage charge of 15p per mile is payable on hire completion if allowance of 160 miles/day for the Discovery is exceeded or if 250 miles/day for the Defender is exceeded.
   
7. The Hirer will be responsible for the fuel reading and on hire completion the fuel reading should be the same as recorded on vehicle collection. The cost of any shortfall will be borne by the Hirer. The Hirer is also liable if incorrect fuel is used (all vehicles are diesel).
   
8. The Hirer will be responsible to check daily the correct levels of engine oil and coolants, tyres etc. Failure to do so may result in damage to the vehicle for which the Hirer will be responsible. The Hirer will be responsible for all equipment in the vehicle and the number plate.
   
9. Full AA Relay Cover & Self-Drive Hire Fully Comprehensive Insurance is included within the UK. Land Rover Assistance covers UK and Europe. Trident Trailers Ltd cannot be held responsible for any personal expenses such as hotel costs incurred as a result of breakdown, delays or accidents to vehicles hired from them.
   
10. Any road traffic accidents involving the vehicle or theft of the vehicle must be reported by the Hirer to the Police and to Trident Trailers Ltd immediately. The Hirer must inform Trident Trailers Ltd of any crime reference number or accident report number given by the Police for any incident. In the event of an accident the Hirer must not admit liability or offer payment to any third parties whether the Hirer is at fault or not.
    
11. All fines incurred by the Hirer for infringement of traffic laws or regulations and tolls are the responsibility of the Hirer. The Hirer is also liable to pay our reasonable administration charges should we have to deal with these matters.
    
12. The Hirer must not at any time involve the vehicle in any illegal importation, i.e. immigrants, drugs, tobacco, alcohol etc. Should the vehicle be involved in any illegal activity the Hirer is fully responsible for all costs, fines or confiscation. The vehicle must not be used by foreign visitors outside UK jurisdiction or used by the Hirer for the carriage of passengers for hire or reward, tuition purposes, racing/competitions/trials/rallies/speed testing, re-hire to others.
    
13. Trident Trailers Ltd cannot be held liable for the damage or theft of customer belongings/goods in the hire vehicle/hire trailer; nor can they be held liable for claims arising from the loading or unloading of any vehicle hired nor can they be held responsible for claims from the slipping or dislodgement of such loads from any vehicle on hire.
    
14. The Hirer agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition as collected and no later than the agreed hire completion date and time. Failure to return the vehicle on time without prior consent from Trident Trailers Ltd will incur a penalty charge together with any additional costs incurred by Trident Trailers Ltd; this failure does mean the vehicle is not insured and renders the Hirer to criminal prosecution.
    
15. Trident Trailers Ltd operate a strict no smoking policy in all vehicles – any offender will forfeit their deposit. The Hirer will be responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior. If cleaned, hand wash only, do not use car wash programmes. If the vehicle is returned unclean a charge will be made for a valet at £75.00.
    
16. Vehicles left at Trident Trailers Ltd premises whilst hiring are done so at the owners’ risk.
    
17. All risks as stipulated in these Terms and Conditions pass to the Hirer on signing below and when the vehicle leaves the possession and control of Trident Trailers Ltd. Note that these points are made as a result of vehicle hire being abused by a minority and we have to protect our services for existing and future clients. All hires are subject to Rental Application Form completion.
