Disclaimer
Trident Trailers can only advise the hirer on the use
of our Trailers, 4x4 Vehicles, Roof Boxes and Bike Racks. Trident trailers
can not be responsible for the trailer, load or driver after the vehicle has
been taken from the premises. The law clearly states that the driver is
fully responsible for the tow vehicle, trailer and load. Please ensure that
you check all these things prior to using any of our Hire items on the
public highway.
All of our trailers are clearly marked with the
necessary weights to ensure the hirer can make an educated decision prior to
towing.
Please read the information below taken from the
Government Highways web site:
74: Vehicle towing and
loading. As a driver
- The Hirer
MUST NOT tow more
than their licence permits you to
- The Hirer
MUST NOT overload
their vehicle or trailer. You should not tow a weight
greater than that recommended by the manufacturer of
their vehicle
- The Hirer
MUST secure their
load and it MUST NOT
stick out dangerously
- The Hirer should properly
distribute the weight in their caravan or trailer with heavy items
mainly over the axle(s) and ensure a downward load on
the tow ball. Manufacturer's recommended weight and tow
ball load should not be exceeded. This should avoid the
possibility of swerving or snaking and going out of
control. If this does happen, ease off the accelerator
and reduce speed gently to regain control.
